My instruments
Guitars:
My very first guitar is a Yamaha but completely "customed". In fact, only the original fretboard remains. I redid the body that was originally a half body, changed the pickups, added a vibrato, changed the mechanical and equipped with Roland GK-2A sensor to control the synthesizers via the GI-10 Roland . Nonnestly I never used in a peice because it is not really realistic it but I think I'll do it for example to play a synth solo but with the phrasing of a guitar, just to see.
In 2010 I bought a guitar Custom 77 London's Burning - CS3 that I hastened to modify by posing a shaver vibrato and mechanical shaver too. I use it from CD4 "Valley of the Angels".
Then in the process I bought an electroacoustic guitar LÂG TRAMONTANE T111DC
November 2014, a new guitar Custom 77, Sister Midnight. Finally I prefer the Gibson version. This one lacks sustain. on the other hand in clean version, it is very good.
December 2018, I changed the bridge pickup to him to put a double humbucker pickup. and passed the microphone table and the rest in black. The solo sound is more powerful and with more sustain. Successful transformation.
October 2019: Finally I bought a branded guitar, a Sterling by Music Man JP70TPB. A signature guitar by John Petrucci from Dream Theater .. Very happy with this acquisition. The sound is pure without effect, close to that of John Petrucci and also with saturation. We do not have the "duck", nasal effect and the bass / treble adjustment is very efficient; the sound really changes.
Guitars FX:
At first I only had a Yamaha FX500 that I replaced with a Korg AX3000G that provides a cleaner sound. It is found on all recordings from the third CD.
In 2016, I invested in a . GTR3 de wave plug-in for amp simulators and BIAS AMP but honnestly, even if it is reallistic, the using is not very easy when you play real guitars. For plug-in, they could do the job but mot with real instruments. Not regarding the sounfd itself, but the using itself.
End 2019, finally I bought a BOSS GT-100. Very nice device with a lot of possibilities that I have not yet explored. The advantage of this device over software is that you can play live without the PC. And on top of that you can record WITHOUT the effects BUT hearing them when you play AND THEN apply the effects you want without having to replay your solo, everything being recorded at that time.
I also have a EBow kind of electronic bow that gives infinite sustain. I do not really know how to use it yet. I wonder if this really matters? This gives a weird sound and the same for everyone ..... I had bought hoping to create attacks like violins on the guitar. It's better to have a Fernandez guitar with this integrated system, it seems like Steve Hackett or Steve Rothery
.
Synthetizers:
Korg X3 I no longer used it since I have my new Kronos except as midi keyboard.
The X5DR is thez rack version, widely used in the first 2 CDs before the remix. I only use it to replay my old songs.
Korg Rack Triton that helped me improve my sound and my music genre. I use it on all my songs from the third CD. And I think I will continue to use it for its ambience sounds and the synthesizer lead Express ..
In 2013, I bought a Korg Kronos 61X with SDD kit. I use it from CD6. It has many possibilities of synths and famous organ sounds 70's
Computer and hardware:
HP i7 computer with Intel Core4 Quad with 16 GB of RAM in 64bit on Windows 10, and a SDD essential for running Eastwest plug-ins with Cubase 10.5 . Note, it also runs with i5 and 8 GB of RAM, it's only longer to load.
FireWire sound card EDIROL FA-101. EDIROL FA-101. replaced end of 2020 by a M-Audio 192/14
Cubase pro 7.5 since october 2014 then 10, 10.5 and 11.
